The Solution To Foot Problems That Runners Face

By Brent Archer

For one reason or another, everyone has at some point been involved in running. The reasons might include health, fun, competition, stress related and fitness related reasons.

Any runner can easily suffer foot problems. The foot problems might include tendonitis, sprains on the ankle, plantar fasciitis, blisters, stress fractures and foot fungus.

These problems can all be solved but only if someone pays attention to the condition of their feet. Without this attention the problems can become worse.

Annually, more than a million runners suffer pain in the heel. Most times, this pain is ignited by plantar fasciitis brought on by a lot of stress in the plantar fascia which is in the foot's bottom. Inflammation and increased pain tend to occur due to tearing.

When one rises from a long rest, they will feel this pain. Similarly, when one begins to run, they will feel this pain though it will slowly reduce as one runs. However, the pain will re-emerge later on after the running.

Runners will feel sharp pain in the calf and heel when they move but it usually subsides when they rest. These calf problems along with Achilles tendonitis are very common among runners.

At the beginning of the running, there is a sharp pain, which might reduce with time or even worsen and cause the runner to stop running. High rising hills and in some cases stairs can worsen this situation.

The remedies include taking substantial rest, using ice and warming up. Swimming and biking can be done in turns and the foot must not be subjected to too much activity. Reducing the distance you run is also helpful. Warming up for 10 minutes before running and icing for 20 minutes after running are also remedies.
