How Parking Lot Robbery is Done

By Shavon Adelman

Any individual who owns a vehicle will be faced with a tough situation if he or she is ever locked out of the car. If this happens to you, don't worry. You're not the only one with this kind of horrifying experience. Ask the security guard if there is a knowledgeable lock picker in close proximity that you can call. It is during this time that knowledge in lock picking will really come in handy.

Some people think that learning how to bump locks can be extremely difficult. But you can do it if you're desperate enough, given you know the basics. If your automobile lock gives with your amateur skills, you must wonder about your vehicle's security. You should try your best to be certain that this does not occur again. If you can unlock your own car or truck without using your key, then think of how easy a knowledgeable robber can break into your car.

To devise a good car or truck safety plan, you need to learn the various ways a thief (or you) can get inside your car, and here they are...

1. Breaking the Window

This is a crude way of burglary, but thieves know that this is the fastest way if the car or truck is not protected by alarm. This drives home the significance of putting in alarm on your car. Some criminals are rash enough to risk it. There may be security alarms in other cars, so they choose to victimize the vehicles that do not have alarms. Big car park zones are usually equipped with security cameras, but if your car or truck is not secured, your vehicle or the belongings inside your car or truck may be taken.

2. Lock Picking and Lock Bumping

Picking and bumping are two diverse methods of fiddling with locks. These are associated strategies of lock manipulation, but they vary greatly in some aspects. In lock bumping, the pins are rapped in one go. Picking a lock is more accurate because each pin, or pin pair, is manipulated one by one.

Robbers are typically pre-loaded with expertise and they make use of tools that are usually designed to dismantle a car's locking mechanism. Some thieves can unlock a parked, unsecured car or truck using do-it-yourself gadgets.
