Get Rid Of Gophers And Moles With Sonic Chasers

By Kerrie Jones

We all like spending time outside in the garden. We are not fond however of vermin spoiling the fun. Thankfully with today's technological advances, we can safely get rid of unwanted pests without using traps, pesticides or chemicals that can be harmful to humans, especially children and the elderly, and desirable wildlife by using ultrasonic devices, electronic yard fences or strobe lights.

No one gets hurt when these products are used, even the animals that are not welcome is kept away in a safe and kind manner with the use of these products. These ultrasonic devices work by using high frequency sound or vibration that hurts the animal's ears, keeping them away. This girl friend of mine doesn't like the squirrels in her backyard, or squirrels at all. They damaged her greeneries, even her house and chewed off the canvas of her chairs that were on the deck. She decided to buy an ultrasonic device and after the installation, it worked wonders! At this point in time, my friend is satisfied. As to the squirrels, they get to live another day.

Gophers and moles can do significant damage to your yard, shrubberies and plants. Your lawn will be ruined with all the bumps on the surface. It's even dangerous to walk about because you might stumble or sprain your ankle. These burrowing rodents spend most of their time underground digging tunnels in your beautiful yard and tunneling ventilation shafts so they can have fresh air in their underground homes. They can dig burrows to a length of quite a few miles with a depth ranging from two to five feet. It's innate in them to dig and they can produce up to 12 babies per family. They are always on the go that is why their bodies do not accumulate fat, and that they only eat the amount that corresponds to their own body weight. Annually, a mature mole consumes food of about 40 pounds. That is their life - eating and digging. Worms are vital in plant growth, they burrow in the soil to allow air to be absorbed by the plants' roots. However, moles prevent them from doing so because they become mole food. Gophers eat roots and plant material.

The surface tunnels made by moles are usually twisted while tunnels made by gophers, which they seldom do, are linear. Moles will make a small volcano like mound, and a gopher will make a more irregular, kidney bean shaped one. If you have a garden covered in healthy flourishing lawns, these creatures will be all over the place. Root of trees, grains, grasses, shrubs and vegetables in diversity are what moles and gophers usually eat on. They mostly like to eat lilies, irises, tulips, carrots, peas and beans. Aside from the preferred rooted out, worms and insects, plant materials are also included in a mole's diet. Gophers though prefer plant materials that are succulent. Gophers, moles, voles, chipmunks, and woodchucks are very intelligent animals. They know how to stay away from getting caught by traps, by ignoring baits and from being poisoned.

There is no question that if you have gophers or moles in your yard, you will know by the mounds, tunnels and damage. Anything that is living, I value their existence by not taking it away from them. I move spiders out of the house and snakes towards the lake (I know what you're thinking, "Why on earth would she do that?") I do not think killing is the answer. Therefore, my advice is buy an ultrasonic gadget now.
